EVENTS:
Sean Hirst Flowers at Sugnall A Celebration of Autumn
The first event at The Garden School will take place on Wednesday 27 October, at Sugnall Hall in rural Staffordshire.
The Garden School, which will be organising a number of events throughout the year, will be held at the main house and will offer a variety of courses open to anyone interested in gardening and horticulture who will learn about garden history, modern planting design and the aesthetics of gardens.
The first event includes flower arranging sessions with Sean Hirst, one of Staffordshire’s leading florists. There will also be tours around the restored 18th century walled kitchen garden, which will be led by Dr David Jacques; Karen Jacques will lead tours around the private ornamental gardens at Sugnall.
Attendees will be welcome from 9.00am, with tea and coffee being served from 9.30. The event will formally commence at 10.00am and the group will be split into two parties with each group either having a tour of the gardens or flower arranging. After lunch the party that spent the morning with Sean Hirst will enjoy an afternoon in the gardens and vice versa for those who went on the tour around the gardens.
A three-course lunch will be served from 12.30 until 2.00pm in the private dining room at the main house. At 4.30pm afternoon tea will be served and the event will close at 5.00pm.
Numbers are strictly limited to a maximum of 20 people and tickets are available on a first come, first served basis. The cost for the day is £150.00, which includes all refreshments and meals, as well as the flower arrangements that the attendees have created. There will also be a goody bag of produce from the walled kitchen garden.
